3 Healthy Thanksgiving Dessert Recipes!

Everyone focuses on maintaining a healthy lifestyle during the summer months. With the summer long gone, the holiday season is upon us. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of the holiday season – the most difficult time of year to maintain your healthy lifestyle.
In efforts to help you celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday while maintaining your healthy lifestyle, we have put together three simple and delicious Thanksgiving dessert recipes that will surely impress your family and your waistline.

Healthy Pumpkin Pie
Ingredients
- 1, 15 oz can of pumpkin puree
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup coconut milk
- ½ cup honey
- 1 tbsp. cinnamon,
- 1 tsp. nutmeg
- 1/8 tsp salt
Preparation
- Combine in a food processor.
- Pour filling into Almond Pie Crust
Pie Crust:
- 1 cup almond flour
- 2 Tbsp. coconut flour
- 1/2 cup grass-fed butter
- 1 Tbsp. Maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1 egg
- Combine all ingredients for pie crust and mold to pan or pie glass to prepare for filling.
- Bake at 350° for 8-12 minutes
- Once filling is added bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
- Allow to cool then refrigerate for 2 hours to set up.
Gluten Free Apple Crumb Bars
Ingredients
- 1.5 cup almond flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar,
- pinch stevia
- 1 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 cup plus 3 tbsp ghee
- 2 tbsp almond milk
- 2 cups peeled, chopped apple (8oz)
- 2 tsp arrowroot
- 3 tbsp pure agave
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Preparation
- Stir together. Scoop 2/3 of the dough into an oiled small pan.
- In a separate bowl, stir together the other ingredients.
- Layer them into the pan, then top with the rest of the dough from the first pan and press down.
- Bake for 45 minutes at 350 F.
- Cool at least 30 minutes before cutting into bars. Store uncovered.
Chocolate Pecan Truffles
Ingredients
- ½ cup coconut oil, melted
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup pure maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup ground pecans
- ½ cup coconut crystals
- 1 teaspoon salt
- dash of salt
Preparation
- In a food processor, combine the cocoa powder, coconut oil, syrup, vanilla, pecans and salt until smooth.
- In a small bowl combine the ground pecans, coconut crystals and salt to create topping mixture.
- Roll chocolate into 2-inch balls with your hands, then roll through the topping mixture.
- Place in the fridge for an hour to chill before serving.
